Will be relocating to Calgary in about three months. I have a boat, usually fish for walleye, trouts and northern pikes. Everyone at work tells me I won't need my boat and that I should sell it. I don't want to... We love camping/fishing and double tow (boat behind fifth wheel) 2-3 times a year for a 'camping/fishing' vacation. I also catch/release bass/perch for fun when boating and enjoying the sun...

Help please.... need to know where I should go fishing........

Unless you can walk on water, I wouldn't sell the boat. I think you will appreciate having the boat and the trailer. Lots of people in Calgary, not many lakes in Alberta.
Where are you from?

Redfrog is right!!! Do not sell your boat!! Little Bow Prov. park on Travers Reservoir is a great place to camp and fish. So is Crawling Valley Reservoir. These southern reservoirs are Pike and Walleye heavens. You just have to keep an eye on the weather.

We are moving from Winnipeg. Thanks for your replies folks. Please more 'spots' where we can go boating and/or boating/fishing.

Coming from Winnipeg, you are in for a fishing culture shock. It looks lke you can fish out of your bedroom window this morning in Winnipeg. There is nowhere near as much water to fish here. I think I'd be planning some vacations back to MB.

There are a few lakes that have good fishing but are C/R. It's not hard to catch lots of walleye in Pigeon lake in the summer, but it is all C/R.

What are good ice fishing combos for walleye and 16-30 inch pike? Fishing on Manistique Lake in Michigan for walleye and pike. I need a good auger, rod, maybe reel if i don't use my own, and some good line. Any good ideas?
